Graduation was a long time ago. Why become a Member of your local USNA Alumni Association chapter now?
1. Pay It Forward – Someone went out of their way to help you get into Annapolis. Maybe a teacher or a coach or a congressman. Your membership in the Chapter helps kids in your community learn about and apply to the Academy. In 2017, the chapter will be providing scholarships to deserving students in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, Iowa and the Dakotas.
2. Expand Your Network – Even if you think you’re too busy, renewing your Chapter membership is still a good idea. Civilian employment has one constant: CHANGE. If you happen to experience a sudden job loss, the Chapter is a great way to start a new job search.
3. Be Part of a Growing Community – The Upper Midwest Chapter has a Strategic Plan to raise the awareness of military service within our region. In the past year alone, we’ve helped to bring the USNA Men's Hockey team, the Superintendent, and former CNO Admiral Greenert to the Twin Cities. In May of next year we will host the first Donald B. McCarthy Heartland Leadership Forum.
Your dues and donations go exclusively toward activities in Minnesota, Iowa, and the Dakotas.
It's really simple. You're either a voting member, or you're not.
To be a voting member you have to be an alumni of the U.S. Naval Academy. Any person who has been sworn in as a Midshipman is an alumni and is eligible to become a Lifetime Member.
Due to our conversion to a 501c(3) non-profit organization this year, the chapter has stopped charging annual dues. Instead, there is a one-time fee of $25 for a Lifetime Membership in the Upper Midwest Chapter, $20 of which is tax deductible!
Effective October 1, 2016, all members in good standing (i.e., dues paid for 2016), were automatically converted to Lifetime Members. If you need to "re-join" the chapter, please click Lifetime Membership below and follow the instructions. Contact the Membership Chair with any questions.
There are additional memberships that DO NOT REQUIRE A MEMBERSHIP FEE, bur receive many of the same benefits of a Lifetime Membership. Please refer to the By-laws for full details.
Active Duty Membership. Generally speaking, a member who is currently serving in the Navy or Marine Corps who maintains a home of record within the Chapter’s geographical boundaries is eligible for this membership. If you graduated from the Naval Academy, but are now serving in another branch of the military (Air Force, Army, etc.) or are serving in a Reserve unit, you may also be eligible. Please contact our Membership Chair with any questions. These are voting members.
Associate / Corporate Membership. Any person having demonstrated active support of the Naval Academy or the Chapter, including corporate donors, may be sponsored as an Associate Member by a Lifetime Member. Admission is subject to approval by the Board of Directors. These are non-voting members.
Legacy Membership. These are Lifetime Members who have reached the 50 year milestone from his or her class graduation year. These are voting members.
